Penelope Kokkinides of InnovaCare Health Has Years Of Experience With Government Healthcare Programs

InnovaCare Health is a New Jersey-based company that provides Medicare advantage plans to consumers as well as providing services to medical practices. The Chief Executive Officer and President of the company is Dr. Richard A. Shinto, MD. He is also known as Rick, and he is a founder of the company. Penelope Kokkinides serves as the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Administrative Officer. It was recently announced that they added two new executives to the staff.

Jonathan Meyers was brought on as the Chief Actuary Officer of InnovaCare Health. He joins the firm with a wealth of actuarial experience, including in positions at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of NJ and at Healthcare Partners in NY. Additionally, Mike Sortino is now the new Chief Accounting Officer. Mike served as controller while at the domestic branch of Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance Co. Ltd. and CFO at the firm of HCC Specialty. The company headquarters are located in Fort Lee.

Rick Shinto was recently honored as a recipient of an award as 1 of healthcare’s 25 top minority leaders. The award was bestowed upon him by Modern Healthcare last year. They honor executives in healthcare who have performed exemplary services and are dedicated to improving the level of care that is provided to patients. A subsidiary of InnovaCare Health, MMM Healthcare, provides its customers with health care plans in Puerto Rico. Rick Shinto and his team jointly possess more than 120 years of healthcare experience. Dr. Rick Shinto achieved his M.D. at the State University of New York (SUNY) in Stony Brook, NY.

Penelope Kokkinides has been in the healthcare industry for over 20 years. Before joining InnovaCare Health, she was employed at Candlelight Healthcare as the Executive Vice President and the COO. Penelope has spent many years focusing directly on the government healthcare programs of Medicare and Medicaid. She is proficient in the area of managed care. Her days are busy and challenging and many are spent traveling from place to place. No two days are alike in her job. Penelope finds that her time in flight is a good time for her to do some of her work. She earned a master’s degree and a post-master’s degree from New York University and Columbia University, respectively.
