Waiakea Water Wants You To Get in Touch With the Volcanoes
We all need water. Most of us drink too little of it; instead, we opt for soft drinks or sugary waters. If we skip all of the organic talk for a second, we all just really need to drink more water. One company is setting out to redefine the way we drink water while also trying to help the world drink a little more.
Waiakea is a bottled water company based in Hawaii. The company sources it’s ultra-pristine water from Hawaii’s volcanic valleys. Specifically, the company gets it’s Hawaii volcano water via filtrating it through the Mauna Loa volcanic valleys.
Now, this is where things start to get a little interesting. Mauna Loa — which means Long Mountain — is a gigantic mountain in Hawaii (in fact it’s the largest mountain in the world from top to bottom). Getting Hawaii volcanic water from the Mauna Loa valleys provides a surplus of benefits. Here are some things that Waiakea contains
– A pH balance of 8.8 (more on this later)
– Crystal clear taste
PH is interesting. The human body runs on about a 7.4 pH level, which is considered the optimal level for human performance. Of course, sometimes this fluctuates, especially if we aren’t getting enough nutrients. Keeping pH in check has a multitude of benefits. Most water in the store contains around 4 – 7 pH. Waiakea saw an opportunity to change the game. By having an alkaline 8.8 pH balance in their water, Waiakea water pH has made it some of the healthiest water on the planet. PH can help with many health issues including disease, but really shines when it comes to stopping and preventing acid reflux.
Silica (mentioned above) also has some incredible health benefits. Silica has been shown time and time again to reduce the symptoms of aging, including reducing Alzheimer’s risk in many studies. Having this in their water alone, makes them stand out from the competition.
When Ryan Emmons started the company he knew that he wanted to make his company different. That’s why for every liter of Waiakea sold, 650 liters of clean water are donated to those in Africa through the pump relief program.
By partnering with Pump Relief, the Hawaii company has been donating massive amounts of water to those in need in areas of Africa. So far, Waiakea has donated 500 million liters of clean water to those in need in African communities.
With a heavy presence in both health and community, Waiakea is trying to change the way we both consume and think about water. If they keep up this donation trend and packaging some of the healthiest water on the planet, Waiakea should continue to be one of the worlds premier water companies.
