Omar Boraie Is A Visionary

Omar Boraie is soon going to complete his latest project that is based in New Brunswick. This is a deluxe luxury residential. It is a high-rise located on Somerset Street, which is in the heart of the city. It is called The Aspire.

With this, according to the NJBiz.com, his vision that he had for New Brunswick is finally taking shape. He had this vision nearly four decades ago, and now it is shaping into reality. At that time, people thought that he is crazy, but now people are no longer thinking that way about him.

Omar Boraie is 73-year old. He is the President of Boraie Development LLC, https://www.bloomberg.com/profiles/companies/0601263D:US-boraie-development-llc. Now he laughs at the way in which people used to make fun of his vision earlier.

He recollects that in 1972, things were quite awful here. This is because there was no one here. Hence even walking on the streets in the evening after 4 p.m. was difficult. It seemed that everyone had moved out from this city. But Omar Boraie felt that he could do something.

This building is his first great project in this town. He recollects that there were 21 buildings here that were dilapidated and vacant. He bought them one after another. Once done, he went to the city to inform about his plan. People considered this crazy. Basically, Omar Boraie was much ahead of his time.

Then he came out with Albany Street Plaza Tower One. With this, he gave the city its first office space that was Class A. it had a total area of 250,000 square feet. This was in the 1980s and ’90s. Then he gave them Tower Two, which was located right next to Tower One. This was completed in 2003. This way the city had still more Class A office space.

Omar Boraie was well aware that in order to ensure that the town continues its growth, he had to provide them some top-class luxury residential units. This was when he envisioned the One Spring Street Condominium building that was based on New York City style.

According to Yahoo.com, this was the tallest building in New Brunswick with its 25 stories. It had a total of 121 residential units. It also provided 40,000 square feet of premium office space. There were 10,000 square feet of retail available. It had a 400-space of a parking garage in addition to outdoor space for a barbecue and a place where you can walk your dog.

There were still many non-believers.

This building was completed in 2007. It was completely sold out within two months. No one could believe that building such as Spring Street could be built in New Brunswick. But now people started believing in Omar Boraie. But he credits many others for this makeover of the city. He mentions Dick Sellers, President of Johnson & Johnson as one of those who deserves much of this credit. This is because they decided to stay on in New Brunswick. Hence it was a great help. Others with same vision included John Lynch and Mayor James Cahill.
